drum kits sound the exact same in garageband?

all the drum kits sound the exact same! from the jazz, to hip hop, to pop.. all of them!! why is this? am i missing something? also, it seems that the instruments list is very limited. i was watching tutorials on youtube and their instruments list was a lot more.. thanks for the help! much appreciated
