bluetooth deactivates wired keyboard

I've had my new Mac tower for 2 years. I'm still in Snow Leopard as I am using FCP7 in a current project.

All has been prinstine and well...But...lately...last few weeks...after starting up, I get a prompt about how my Bluetooth Keyboard

isn't hooked up properly...only thing is, i haven't got one. I'm using the wired flat aluminum keyboard (with number pad)

...USB'd into the back of my Mac 27" monitor...and it is renedered usless.

I try switching USB ports and that actually worked...at first... but now not even that works.

I'm using an old laptop tyo write this. I need my workstation back!

Anybody ever heard of this?
