My Macbook pro retina,
My charger started to get really hot, so I went to the apple store they replace it and give me another charger. Now this one gets hot but also the madsafe2 conector gets hot as well and the other didn't.ðŸ˜

Reset SMC.

Choose the method for:
"Resetting SMC on portables with a battery you should not remove on your own".
If this does not help, contact Apple again.
It is possible that the replacement power adapter can be also defective.

Same thing happened to me (Except mine isn't a retina display). Just got my adapter replaced a week ago and now it is overheating even more than than the last one. Called support and Apple is sending me another replacement. I'm not sure what to do if the third one starts to overheat....
