Iphone 5 won't charge unless I wiggle the cable around to fine a spot where it works. It's not the cable/charger as it works perfectly in other iPhone 5's. I haven't even had it a year so it's still under warranty and the phone is in very good condition

I have no idea what it is about the iPhone charging port that attracts lint and holds on to it but I swear I've never seen another phone that has the problem to this level. At least it's easily fixed.

I have the perfect fix. I don't carry my iPhone loose in my pocket. It's always in a belt holster or a slipcase that covers the port.

I like belt holsters, too. And I never have the problem, either, even without a cover over the port.

I have the same problem. I have two charging cords that I have to wiggle and hold (or prop) to work. No lint. Tried contact cleaner (lightly), bought a new cord that did the same thing. Really not trying to spend $$$ to have this fixed f I could do this myself.

No, it won't shock you. However, it is within the realm of possibility that you could short something, though it's not terribly likely. I prefer non-conductive tools.

YO bro I had this problem like 2 mins ago.. I just took a paper clip and you would not believe how much lint was in the port!!! Took it all out and I'm good to go... Hope this helps you or anyone with the same issue

That's a common cause of connectivity issues. I'm glad you found it and have fixed your issue.

Make an appointment at the Genius Bar at your local Apple Store or at an Authorized Apple Service Provider.

I too have just logged in to say that this trick worked for me! No more having to balance the end of my phone in an inclined position to be able to get some charge! Hurrah!
