I have just got my iPad mini wifi .
In the apple store the assistant showed me that it was possible to Bluetooth with my iPhone 4S
Now I am home I cannot connect the 2 devices .
I have reset both devices as well but the only device discoverable is my daughter's laptop.
Her iPhone 5 is not discoverable either.
What am I doing wrong ?

iOS devices do not support bluetooth data transfer and will not pair with each other or Macs.
They will only connect for Internet connection sharing.

The only thing you can do via BlueTooth between an iPad and an iPhone is tether the iPad to the iPhone to use the iPhone's cell connection, or run one of the few third-party apps that can communicate via BlueTooth, mostly shared games. What it is that you wish to do with this connection?

Yes I want to use it for cellular data,Internet use age.
Other than the Hotspot feautre, there is no way to connect iPad and iPhone through bluetooth, because there's nothing they can do when connected.
I am assuming what the person at the Apple Store showed you was the Hotspot feature, in which case you need to Turn on Hotspot, and then turn on Bluetooth.
