How can I manually sync my iphone?

The iPhone button disappears in iTunes 11.0 after an automatic sync. There doesn't seem to be a sync button or other access to my iPhone (3G) after the initial connection & sync. I want to be able to sync new calendar events & contacts at any time. (Previous iTune versions showed my iPhone connected in the left margin iTunes menu as long as the phone was connected. I could manually sync at any time.)

iPhone 3G, iOS 5.1.1, iTunes upgraded to 11.0

Itunes 11 moved some stuff around on you, the location to find your iphone should be in the top right of the window next to where it says "iTunes Store"

If you dont see it there you can enable the sidebar (so it looks like it did before updating) by going to

view > show sidebar

(If you dont have the menu bar on a pc, you can get it to show up by pressing either alt or ctrl-b on your keyboard)
