You don't, sorry. the camera connection kit only works to import photos onto the iPad. There is zero support for transferring them off beyond syncing them off or uploading them somewhere.

First off, the Apple Camera Connection Kit id designed to copy/move photos from your camera to your iPad, not really the other way around.

Next, the Apple Camera Connection Kit works with the DCIM folder, and only with pictures which mees a specific naming convention.  If you are working with an SD card, I do not remember if the Apple kit works with SDHC cards, but I am pretty sure it does not accept the SDXC cards.

I happen to have a ZoomIT SD card adapter, and using their proprietary software, I can copy files from my iPad to an SD or SDHC card (it does not support SDXC cards either).  The nice thing about this little guy is that it also allows you to access files on any part of the SD card, not just those in the DCIM folder.

The camera connection kit can only be used to import photo/video files from a camera, SD card or USB flash drive. You can't import other types of files. You can't export any type of files using the camera connection kit.

You can use a USB flash drive & the camera connection kit.

Plug the USB flash drive (works the same with an SD card) into your computer & create a new folder titled DCIM. Then put your movie/photo files into the folder. The files must have a filename with exactly 8 characters long (no spaces) plus the file extension (i.e., my-movie.mov; DSCN0164.jpg).

Now plug the flash drive into the iPad using the camera connection kit. Open the Photos app, the movie/photo files should appear & you can import. (You can not export using the camera connection kit.)

thanks for the help, I called support to ask about moving pictures and they said you have to buy the kit. So I did that and now I find out you can only move them one way. All I wanted to do was be able to move them from my ipad to my pc which is windows. The tech. told me to just plug in my ipad and open my computer and the ipad will be there as a camera. I was able to move them with this method and promised the tech i would try to pass the word along. I know this dosent help if you dont have a laptop handy or a pc but for me this way will be just fine.
