Mac App Store Difference?

If you buy an app on your mobile device like an iPhone, do you still have to buy the same app again on your iMac's App Store? I'm asking this because i noticed that all of my paid apps on IOS arent available for me to download on OS without having to buy it again.

The apps for iDevices are different than the Mac version and will need to be purchased separately.
