What's the meaning of GSM Rev A for the iPhone 4?

it's a certain type of the phone that determines which ipsw file you would download for beta versions of an iOS. the Rev A one means you've got an 8 GB iphone 4. please be sure to only use the beta if you're a paying developer 🙂

so i have a iphone 4, 8GB white but how a know that my one is Rev A iphone or not?

if the model number starts with ME798 or ME799, you have iPhone 4 GSM rev a. If your model number starts with MD126, MD128, MC318, MC603, MC608, MC319, MC605, MC610, MD196, MD198, MC604 or MC606 then you have an iPhone GSM.

MD127 isn't mentioned. Revision A or not?

iPhone 4 (GSM) [A1332]- released June 2010.

iPhone 4 (GSM Rev A) [ME798 & ME799] - released October 2011.

The model no [A1332], [ME798 & ME799] is on your iphone 4 back cover.

Both sentences here are innacurate. It applyies to non-beta too, it's applys to your phone itself. And Rev A doesn't not mean you've got an 8 GB iPhone 4.

Here's the correct way to identify your iPhone 4 GSM by model nummber (written on back of phone in tiny text, and in Settings > General > About):

Though not mentioned, MD127 is apparently NOT Rev. A.

MC611LL is not mentioned either.

what is the meaning of Rev A or Rev A Not? I have an iphone 4 with the model A1332 EMC380B. please help 🙂
