I have created a few playlists in iTunes. When I attempt to drag and drop the playlist or sync the playlist with my iPad 2 I can see the playlist and songs on my iPad HOWEVER, they are greyed out with a dotted circle to the left of the song title. And the songs won't play. Anyonel have a solution for this? Thanks.

Also, I can only see the playlist and greyed out songs when looking at the iPad on iTunes. When I look at the iPad itself, there is no playlist or songs.
Hi, I've exactly the same problem. I've one newly purchased iPad with Retina Di...Fi - Newest Version. During last 10 dyas I've tried with various options but "they (musics) are greyed out with a dotted circle to the left of the song title. And the songs won't play. Seems an annoying problem to a long time iPod user. I look for a simple solution to this.
Funny enough, I unchecked Sync Music on the ipad in iTunes and quit iTunes. When I restarted iTunes with my ipad connected it fwent through the sync process and cleaned up the music on my ipad. Then I went back to sync music and select the playlist that didn't work before and hit sync. And it worked!
Thanks for your suggestion. I followed the steps but didn't work. First of all even though I unchecked Sync songs remain there after I came to iTune. Appears I've a different problem.
How can I get my itunes playlist to sync with ipad?
