Limit for movies in iTunes

I have a lot of movies that I have been ripping, tagging and hereafter imported to iTunes, so that my kids can see all our movies from their iPad and AppleTV. We are talking about 1500 movies that has been converted and imported into iTunes, but recently my kids asked me about a specific movie that no longer existed in iTunes, even though I remember about importing it.

After searching through iTunes I found out that even though I have converted about 1500 movies and imported them to iTunes, it only said there was 814 movies in the library.. I looked back in the movie folder, and found all 1500 movies listed, so I tried to just importing some of them again. After importing about 20 movies I realized that iTunes still said there only was 814 movies in the library so somehow the iTunes application deletes older movies when new movies are added.

I don't know if anybody else have experienced something similar. If it has any meaning I am currently using the newest version of iTunes 11.0.4.. I find it a bit annoying since I can easily have about 30.000 music files stored..

And just in case some AppleTV designers look at this thread: I would like a way to search for a movie title the same way that I can search for a music title, please 🙂
