Hi, T. G.

I don't have that phone, but some research indicates the following:

• Your Samsung SPH-A900 is incompatible with iSync. See Apple's list of iSync-compatible devices.

• The PCLink software from Samsung is exclusively for Windows PCs running WIndowss 98, CE, Windows 2000, or Windows XP.

• Unfortunately, Mark/Space, the makers of the "Missing Sync" series of products, no longer has a product that works with Samsung phones.

• A reading of the manual for the SPH-900 from Sprint indicates that if you buy music from the Sprint music store, you get two songs: one in AAC+ format that only plays on the phone and a second in WMA format. I suspect the WMA file is protected with WMA-DRM (Windows Media Audio - Digital Rights Management) and will not play on your Mac. The free Flip4Mac WMV player, which adds support for playing Windows Media files in QuickTime, does not support files protected with WMA-DRM.

This Google search finds this page where, down in the "Comments from readers" section, a Mac OS X user named "iSleek" posted on Mar 09 2006 a workaround for downloading MP3 files to the phone using Bluetooth.

You may want to look into the other Google search results above, but frankly I'd recommend returning the phone in exchange for one that is iSync-compatible. In particular, look at the chart at the bottom of the iSync-compatible devices page for those manufacturers whose phones support the widest exchange of data between your Mac and the phone.

Good luck!

Exactly. That is what was suggested in this link to which I pointed you from the Google search.

Since the information in my post apparently solved your problem by pointing you to the necessary tip, you may want to mark my post here as Solved as it solved your problem and may help others with the same problem that find your topic know the post that contains the answer. Click the Solved button in that post above.

Marking posts that are helpful or solve the problem as Helpful or Solved, respectively, helps others to find answers and awards points to those who take the time to respond. See "Why reward points?".

Marking a topic as Answered indicates the question is resolved, but only you, as the person who asked the question, can mark posts as Helpful or Solved. The "Answered" status neither awards points nor provides an indication to others of the posts that were either helpful or solved the problem.

Good luck!
