Q: Cannot download previously purchased songs.

I go to iTunes store > purchased > name of artist ... and the songs I'm missing are listed.

However, where the "download" button is supposed to be it says "downloaded" and clicking on it has no effect. I assume that I downloaded them once when I first purchased the album, but they're missing from my Media Folder.

So, I need to REdownload the songs. How do I do that?

iMac, Mac OS X (10.7.2)

Do you still have them listed in the Music part of your iTunes library i.e. where you would click on them to play them ? If you do then iTunes will be seeing them and assuming that you still have them somewhere and that there is therefore no need to re-download them - try deleting one of them from there and it should then get the cloud symbol against it for re-downloading in the Purchased link, and if it does then delete the others as well.

Yes ... thank you. I actually figured this out last night, but you're right on.

    1. Delete the songs from the song list ... this eliminates the names from the iTunes Library.

    2. Run Update iTunes Match from the Store menu (probably not necessary ... but I was trying everything at this point).

    3. Go back to Purchased Music in the iTunes Store.

Now the store no longer thinks that the songs are on my computer, and the "Download" button is active.

Make sure you are signed into your account, then if you pull down menu under your name on the upper right, you should get an "account" menu. Select "purchased," then it should display everything, there are one of two buttons above, one says "not in my library." click on the little cloud and it should download...
