Ethernet or WiFi

I've connected my iMac directly to my FIOS modem with an ethernet cable. Do I need to turn off the WiFi or just leave it on? The network preferences shows the eithernet connected and the WiFi also connected. Might not mean anything, but just don't want to cause a problem. Thanks for your help in advance.

You can click the gear icon and arrange order and the connection type on top will be the prefered connection, however i'd just turn off wifi cause it isn't going to use your wifi if your ethernet is the prefered connection and i am assuming you're using ethernet to get the best speed possible.
