I clicked to turn my MacBook on.. It goes to the apple logo and loads like it's going to turn on afterwards. But then, the logo just sits there for hours. What exactly is wrong and how can I fix this???

It's hard to offer troubleshooting suggestions other than the basics when the OS system is unknown. Each OS has it's own troubleshooting and/or diagnostics.

OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion
Since you're running Mountain Lion, try starting up whilst holding down the COMMAND and the R keys. This should boot you into your Recovery partition. Once there, use Disk Utility to verify and, if needed, repair your boot volume.
