all my icons on the finder sidebar aren;t there and I can;t find them help!! Even in prefrences it does nothing.

Have you checked them in this Finder > Preferences window?

I was having the same issue. My color coded tags were not showing up on my sidebar as well. I went to the finder preferences, and saw the colored tags at the bottom of that screen. Thinking I could just drag and drop there colored one onto my sidebar, I dragged the "red" tag to it, but as soon as I let go of it, the tag disappeared into thin air with a "trash poof icon and sound". Can anyone help me with getting back that icon as well as telling me how to add the colored tags to the sidebar?
