how do I download Office for Mac onto my MacBook Pro?
Just downloaded Office for Mac 2011 and having trouble installing it. Any suggestions?

when I open the downloaded file it says 'not recoginized'
From where did you download the file?
What is the file extension of the downloaded file?
from the Microsoft website. the file extension is .iso
Are you certain you downloaded the Mac version? ISO files are typically for windows computers.

You downloaded the wrong office version.
Here you can download the right version, but keep in mind that you need a license key as well, to activate this version longer than 30 days.

Office does not come as an .iso, for a Mac it is a .dmg file.
