New Airport Extreme DLNA Support
Apple has just released the new Airport Extreme router. There are a number of advanced technical features that I can't find the answer for, for example if it support DLNA?
Anyone knows the answer?
Many thanks

No the new 802.11ac AirPorts do not provide either a DLNA-compliant Media Server or Player. However, they do support the audio/video streams between these types of devices.

Good morning Tessarax,
It seems that you know very well about the DLNA and Airports. I have the new Airport Time Capsule 2T and I love it. But I just bought a new audio streamer Cambridge Magic 6 and it just does not connect to my ATC and I beleive it does not support the DLNA. What do you mean by "they do support the audio/video streams between these types of devices"? If I have a mini-mac in wi-fi with my ATC to my audio-streamer needing DLNA, would it work?
Thanks,
The most basic DNLA system requires both a DNLA-compliant Media Server and a Media Player. The server can either be a hardware or software solution.
At best the Time Capsule can be used as a Media Storage device NOT a Media Server. In order to stream audio files located on the Time Capsule, you would still need a Media Server to "stream" those files to a Media Player.
In your case, you can run a software Media Server on your Mac mini. You would then point this server to the location of the media files on your Time Capsule and stream them to your Media Player.
