Q: Changing and merging libraries
Hi folks,
Very basic question here , but I don't use itunes much.
I have a PC and Laptop both with itunes and local libraries.
I have just bought a network drive and I'd like to put everything on that and have all devices looking at it.
So I copied the PC's library with music, movies apps and all to the drive.
I opened itunes on the laptop and went in preferences/advanced and changed the media folder location to the new one.
I thought then itunes on the laptop would look at that library and i could just import or drag in the files that were on the laptop that werent on the pc and so werent on the new drive.
Only itunes still seems to be looking at the laptop's local drive as there are albums I imported there that aren't yet on the pc or new drive.
So I'm confused. Why is it still looking at its old library?
How do I make it look at the new one so I can go ahead and drag the different files in before deleting the local folder?
Any ideas?
