How to Automatically Retry a download in App Store for Mac OS X 10.8.4

Hi Mac Users

I have a strange problem with my broadband provider that after every 30 minutes they give one timeout with the download that is being performed. (Not sure that this is to prevent continuos downloads or any stupid strategy).

So the App Store puts this into error status and I have to manually restart the download by providing the password again.

Is there any way or kind of os x api snippet (that I can write myself) to automatically retry for 2 or 5 times with a few seconds as interval. This saves my time as its been two days that I got my new mac book pro retina and the updates itself have not yet finished. It just fails with network timeout error and I have click on the resume/install again (by providing my apple id password) & clicking on resume once again.... By this only 50 MB is being downloaded every 30 min :-(

Apple's recommendation is a broadband connection but not one with restrictions.

Here's why. Your profile indicates you have v10.8 Mountain Lion installed.

If at some point you need to reformat, repair, or restore OS X, that can definitely take more than 30 minutes. To restore OS X alone takes about 45 minutes with a high speed internet connection.

Requirements for reinstalling OS X Lion or OS X Mountain Lion

"Reinstalling OS X Lion or OS X Mountain Lion via OS X Recovery requires broadband access to the Internet via Wi-Fi or an Ethernet connection. OS X is downloaded over the Internet from Apple when OS X Recovery is used for reinstallation."

I tried connecting directly to the modem and still the same issue. But found an interesting one below. Not sure how this is related though.

If I remove the ac power adapter, I had no interruptions for 6 hours on Battery and soon after I connected it to the ac adapter power , the update is interrupted with the initial mentioned error in 30 minutes :-(

Seems very strange though...
