Apple Event: May 7th at 7 am PT
My "Software Update..." tells me I need to upgrade to 10.8.4 (I'm currently on 10.8.3 on a Macbook Pro). I click Install and am told to restart, which I do. And when I get back from restarting, I'm still told to upgrade to 10.8.4. For some reason, I'm stuck in this loop. How do I break out of this and actually get upgraded to 10.8.4?

Sometimes the Mac App Store version doesn't work. In your case, install 10.8.4 with the Combo edition you can download from the Apple site > http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1659

Thanks! What's the best course of action when I have the same problem with 10.8.5? That is, how do I find the solution without having to post a question here and wait for a reply?
You shouldn't have any problem with a future update. This problem has happened to a lot of users,, and at this moment, I haven't found any reason for this problem
Apple posts the combo updaters for each update, so after opening the support page, go to downloads to find the update. There is a search box to narrow what you see.

10.8.4 upgrade stuck
