error 46

Just downloaded and tried to launch QT.Anyone know what this error is?

Your having trouble installing iTunes or Quicktime. Let me ask you something. Is this computer maybe a few years old and has had several administrator accounts and perhaps versions of QuickTime installed to it in the past? So I don't think the error 46 is much of a issue. But I know we need to get the computer clean and be sure your user account is an administrator

OK I see it's for XP. I've never had the error 46. But where the solution is referring to user accounts and permissions and registry permissions perhaps you can take ownership? Are there different user accounts on the computer?

Or I would try uninstalling QT, including left behind folders and files. Then remove any windows msi files pertaining to QT. Then everything pertaining to QT in the registry. That should clean up the computer and install a new version of QT
