Q: Storage - Photo issues

I have an iphone 3G, and despite backing up icloud and having 4.3 GB of 5.0 GB storage available, I still get the message that I cannot take a photo, not enough storage space, go to setting...

Not sure what to do - beyond frustrated with the time wasted

    Are you sure the message isn't referring to insufficient storage on your phone rather than in your iCloud account.  Check your available space in Settings>General>Usage at the top.  If your phone is full, you'll have to remove something to make more room.
