iPod as a gift

If I load content from my iTunes to an iPod that is a gift, can the receiver still use iTunes from their own computer/iTunes account?

iPod touch, iOS 6.1.4

If you load content from your iTunes library, the content would be erased when they try to load content from their library. If you bought content then it is yours, you cannot distribute it.

If you want to share account then sure. Other wise just gift it to their independent account

I second 12342dawe's suggestion of gifting the content to their Apple ID.
