So, im switching to launchpad, completely forgetting the unessentials of my dock, but I have on problem. As apps such as mail show a number of new mail in red or reminders shows a new reminder in red on the app in the dock, launchpad does not do that! Is there any way to config such a thing?

Not that I know of. However it should do this by default non the less.
Try updating to 10.8.4
In terminal you can try relaunching the Dock (controls Launch Pad):
