How to safely shut down mac from the welcome screen?

Hi all,

I just reinstalled Mountain Lion on my Mac mini as I'm selling it on eBay.

My question is, now that the reinstall is complete, and we're looking at the "Welcome" screen, how do I safely shut down this Mac?

There are no options to do so that I can see.

I've heard that pressing the power button can damage your Mac.

Thanks very much for any assistance!

Mike

You should erase the hard drive while re-installing the OS as your data is still available to whoever buys your Mac.

Utilities > Disc Utility > click the drive then Erase tab using the most secure setting.
