Is there any point in getting it?

I have an iPod Touch 4th generation and I love it. As soon as i heard about the IOS 7 and saw pictures, I did some research on it, and found out it won't be for my generation, only 5th. Should I save money and get the 5th generation? I'm scared that as soon as I finally get it, the 6th generation will come out shortly after, and there will be an IOS 8, just for that one. This is where Apple comes into being a terrible company because they abandon all of the products before the newest one.

iPod touch 4th generation was released in 2010. That's three years ago. I would say that could be expected of the 5th, just released last October.

It would probably be a good idea to wait and get the 6th or 7th generation iPod touch. Apps will still be compatible with iOS 6.1.3 for a while after iOS 7 comes. Wait until iOS 6 becomes rather outdated before upgrading and that way you won't feel like you're wasting money each time a new version comes out. : )

SAving your money is a good idea, but wait until iOS 7 is actually available, before making a decision. You may decide on an iPhone, or iPad/iPad mini, or maybe they will have announced the next generation product.

iOS 7 could be as much a 5 months away, as "Fall" does no officially end until mid December 🙂

The wait for the 6G iPod might be a while since there were two years between the 4G and 5G.
