Q: Using the camera connection kit, the device operates normally until I try to import. When I do, it tries to import, then I get a red ! and the file does not import. Nikon D3200, card is ok, works fine in the camera

I just bought the connection kit for my iPad. The card mounts normally, pictures display as they should, but when I try to import them, (JPEG files) it tries for a moment but then I get a red "!" and the file does not import. Any ideas?

iPad (3rd gen) Wi-Fi + Cellular, iOS 6.1.4
