iPhone 3gs- Charging is not supported with this accessory?

my iPhone3gs keeps saying when i plug it in to charge that "Charging is not supported with this accessory". Why is it saying this? Will Apple send me another iPhone?

OK, so just an easy check - reset your phone and see if it makes any difference - hold down the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons at the same time and continue to hold them down until the Silver Apple appears. Then, once the Home screen comes back up, plug 'er in, and see what you get.

If you get the same message, then you need to take a trip to your nearest Apple store or Authorized Apple Service Provider with the iPhone, cable, and adaptor so they can check it out. Or, you can simply purchase a new adaptor and cable (it sounds like the adaptor itself may have an issue at this point....)

Cheers and good luck!

I've same same problem.. I think might be cause of duplicate charger I'm getting charging is not supported.. Then I got original cable from my friend and when I connect it to my iphone 4s, same thing happend.. And I already cleaned the dock connector but still that problem repeats again and again.. I tired buying new cables and, but still getting the same problem.. What I have to do to solve this problem??? And please do not suggest to repair cause I'd already went for that but he told me that there is no issue with the dock connector.. So how can I get rid of from this problem??? :'(
