how do I spend my account balance?
I received credit to spend at the App Store when I bought my MacBook Air. I last used this over a year ago. Can anyone remind me of what I need to do to purchase an app against the balance of this account?

The following article goes over how store purchases are billed. If you have a gift certificate attached to your account, it would be used before your credit card:
When making purchases, content credits are used first, followed by Gift Certificate, iTunes Card, or Allowance Account credits; your credit card or PayPal account is then charged for any remaining balance.
