Hi mugsman,

What applications are you attempting to open?

The applications should be in your Applications folder in Finder.

If you don't see the applications in Finder or doing a Spotlight search, you may need to restore them from your Time Machine backup or reinstall them from the Mac App Store or installation disc.

I hope this information helps ....

Have a great day!

Thank You Judy. Just to let you know What was happening was when I tried to open some apps the finder box would pop up and say you can not open this app because it is in a time machine back up. It was even giving adobe a problem. I reinstalled adobe and moved some apps to the do not back up option and everthing seems to be ok for now. Thank You for your time and I will look at the links you sent. Mugsman
