My ipad has a little padlock upper right hand corner with a circle arrow around it jut appeared a few day ago . Can anyone tell me what it's for and how to remove it thanks

Open Control Center on the phone : iPhone screen lock.

Trying to unlock the lock button on top of iphone for portrait or landscape.

Rotation Lock

Rotation Lock prevents the iPad display from switching between portrait and landscape mode. While Screen Rotation Lock is enabled, the following occurs:

• The display remains in landscape or portrait mode, regardless of how iPad is held.
• The Rotation Lock icon appears in the status bar.
• A padlock appears in the rotation lock button (viewable when you flick to the left on the recently used apps list, after double-clicking the Home button).

orientation lock, double tap the home button the swipe to the right, and tap on the lock icon...all fixed:-)

Your iPad has a Rotation Lock/Mute Switch on the side of the iPad next to the volume control. If that show Red you may have turned on Rotation Lock there by accident. Slide that switch to turn off Rotation Lock.
