I can barely hear my brand new ipod touch 4th gen through the TDM-iP20 docking unit on a Sony DAV-HDX285. My prior ipod worked fine, any suggestions or help?

Can any1 help?

Does the manufacturer say it will work with your model iPod and it iOS?

Try:

- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost

Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at

least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

- Reset all settings

Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.

All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.

- Restore from backup. See:

iOS: How to back up

- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store. Bring the dock

Thanks for your reply, but to no avail. My last iPod touch was a 1st gen and my gf got it wet and destroyed it 4 years ago (of course she had to do the only thing that voided the warranty), and this is the first one that I have bought since then. I was wondering if maybe through these years that apple could had done a new update or something that has made my docking unit to my stereo obsolete. With the stereo and iPod up full blast, I can just barely hear it coming through. BTW, the closest genuis bar to me is around 3 hours away, so that is not an option. I just want to listen to my iPod I just bought through my 5.1 sony stereo at a higher volume than what the default iPod speakers will go, but that is not happening as of this moment. I can hear it at maximum volume, but just barely.
