you should really use the specified ram your mac requires.  That ram MAY work, but their is also a good chance it will give you nothing but problems.

I suspect you have not gone out and bought these ... maybe salvaged them from another machine.   Not good practice as shldr2 suggests.

People on these forums speak well of the following suppliers.

In North America contact OWC …        Upgrade Apple iMac Memory

In Europe contact Crucial.com  …       RAM Memory Upgrade

Both companies have facilities to guide you and will recommend the correct memory package to meet whatever needs you describe to them.

There may be benefits buying from your own geographical location insofar as Shipping charges, Local sales taxes and Exchange rates.  Check out the basic memory costs and do your sums.

    In a word...no!

The RAM's frequency is higher than spec'd for a late 2009 iMac and it either won't work orit will cause all sorts of unusual problems.

It's best to get the proper RAM for a specified Mac model to insure compatibilty and continuous and smooth operation.

Here the RAM spec you need for a late 2009 model.

    16 GB
    Memory Slots4 - 204-pin PC3-8500 (1066 MHz) DDR3 SO-DIMM

Correct and reliable Mac RAM can be purchased from online Mac RAM sources Crucial memory or OWC (macsales.com).
