Apple Event: May 7th at 7 am PT
When i press the lock button, just one click, it either says 'slide to power off' or does nothing at all. I'm relying on auto lock after 2 minutes. Also once locked it then randomly carries on flashing at the 'slide to power off' screen. Once I turn the iPad off it will automically restart itself and continues this until the battery is dead. Any ideas please guys? Zoē

Try a reset.
Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears

Thanks for the reply. I tried this first and I've also reset to the factory settings and restored but still no joy.
I had this same problem. I went to Settings and turned the "iPad Cover Lock/Unlock" option to off and it resolved my issue. My Smart Cover will mo longer lock the screen, but the Sleep/Wake button works.
This helped, thanks. I just wish Apple would fix this bug soon. I can't tell you how annoyed I am about this.
