What OS? Assuming 10.7 or later, try starting up in recovery mode, running Disk Utility and repairing the disk.
I assume you are hearing a clicking noise in addition to the folder w/ mark.
You can try resetting the PRAM, holding down option or shift during the start up.
If that doesn't work, it sounds like you have a busted hard drive. : \
How do i start in recovery mode???
TrackRunner95- I did what you said... now it shows Internet Recovery and it's asking me to choose a network....
i chose the Internest recovery and it gave me an error message.....

What in the world?! It can't be a crashed hard drive. I was trying to restore the computer to its factory setting and this happened.... i did something wrong... obviously. lol
