hi i accidently deleted my web browser (chromium) history. i recovered all the application support files from time machine, but the history was still gone. i didn't tell the timemachine prefs to exclude anything. what gives? thanks.

They are probably somewhere in your user library, although I don't know exactly where since I don't use that browser.
Hold down the option key while using the Finder “Go To Folder” command. Enter ~/Library/.
If you prefer to make your user library permanently visible, use the Terminal command found below.

You might want to bookmark the command. I had to use it again after I installed 10.8.4. I have also been informed that if you drag the user library to Finder it will remain visible.
looking in all time machine backups the file user/library/application support/default/history is not there!! did timemachine skip this file when backing up and if so why?
Are other items in the Application Support folder backed up? Are any exclusions configured in the Time Machine preference pane?
are all files backed up or are some skipped?
