Hi, I just purchased an iPad with Retina display (Wifi only). Just curious if it can be used for geocaching if I download the right app. Some apps claim that you can geocache off line, but internet reviews say otherwise. Or is there an accessory?

No. The WiFi iPad has no GPS included. The only location service for WIFi-only devices is by the location of the WiFi router the iPad is connected to, and such location may be either nonexistent or wildly inaccurate and even if accurate for the router itself can be inaccurate for your iPad by hundreds of feet.

There are bluetooth GPS adapters that will work with iPads and the GPS apps available in the App Store. Since your iPad is wifi only you will also need a map app with the ability to download and store map data on the iPad.
