Can I use a new 27" imac as a display for a PC with DVI output

Hi,

My PC is kind of old, but I need to have it for work related things. Unfortunately is doesn't have a display port out only DVI and VGA.

I want to buy a new iMac (27") for personal work but I don't have room for multiple monitors in my current office setup.

Is there any adapters or any way to use a 27" iMac as a display for a DVI output PC?

I keep getting contradicting opinions when searching

I wrote the other day about VMware (which will have to be my option if I can't get the iMac to work as a monitor, but I have a lot of data stored on my PC so I'd rather keep it and just have one beautiful 27" monitor

Thanks for any help.

Unfortunately not, the feature you are referring to is called Target Display Mode. Apple explains which machines it will work with in:
