How would i go about downloading this? I've got a developer account (I think) but it doesn't show up for me!

Hmm I don't have a paid account... Can anyone link to a file?

Received another call from Apple technical support. (Our 4th conversation) They are  working on a fix. They expect something shortly but gave no specific timeline. Their initial thoughts are that this is software related and not hardware. They promised to keep me updated.

I held off on swapping my Air out at the Apple Store today and installed the beta seed of 10.8.5. I've been unable to reproduce the flickering at all since I installed it.

Can you upload the install file somewhere?

keep your findings updated here mate!

    Hi all,

quick update here: I went to my Genius Bar appointment this saturday at the Apple Store in Covent Garden, London, UK.

got an exchange with brand new macbook air. Still having the issue after reinstalled all the software.

    Long version:

The guys at the Apple Store were very helpful and understanding. I explained the issue, They ran some tests on the macbook air. All was ok. Then they asked me if I could replicate the issue, which I did. I asked if they had seen the issue. They said they heard about it (by reading the news) but it was the first time that they had seen it in person. I was a bit surprised, I thought if this was a software issue then statistically there would probably be another person who had come in the Apple Store with this issue. Maybe this issue is not wide spread at all?

So, as they still did not know if this was a hardware issue or software issue (from either Apple or Adobe), they explained me my options:

    - either I would wait for the Mac OS X update and see if it resolves the issue;

    - or I could get an exchange with a new mac right now.

I thought I might give a try at the new mac to see... So they proceeded with the exchange.

Got back home. Reinstalled everything on the next day. And… too bad the problem is still here.

Anyway I guess I'll wait for the update now. Even though the issue is still not resolved, I must say I was impressed by the good service at the Apple Store...

I hope we see some sort of fix to this problem soon.

I got a replacement but the problem is still there. Clearly it's a compatibility issue with Ps; the flickering stops if you stop using the brush or go to another app.

I don't want to ask for another replacement since I know this happens in pretty much every 2013 MBA with Ps CS6/CC. I tried resetting the PRAM, repairing disk permissions, reinstalling Ps and reinstalling the ENTIRE OS, and the problem is still there!

Please Apple fix this soon!! I don't want to take it back, it's a wonderful machine.

We haven't had news for a while about the 10.8.5 solution.

Is it really working perfectly in 10.8.5 ?

GaryGrobson you seem to say that it's not been resolved in it despite all we've read the past 7 days…

Did someone install 10.8.5 and can absolutely confirm it's been resolved ? If not, we all have Airs to give back to Apple.

    Thank you !

Is that really all you have to offer to this discussion (Linc Davis)... it's a very weak offering. You would do better just advising that there is a known problem and a fix is imminent, not the claptrap you offered.

I have a two day old Mac Air, 1.7GHz,  i7, 512GB. I find it frustrating that I can buy a machine for around £1500 and 2 two days later have the screen flickering with an application I have always used on every Mac I have owned. (VMware Fusion). When I called support everyone appears to be suprsied this is an issue.... as though it's the first time they have of this problem.

I really, sincerely wish Apple could become a little more Proactive, rather than what seems to be rather tedioudsly reactive.

I have to start to question a company that is happy to release it's products and offer nothing in the way of productive comment on a forum with customers that are clearly frustated
