My iPad mini isn't showing up in iTunes.

I've restarted computer, have the most up to date iTunes and tried all of the USB ports. It shows up in iPhoto but not in iTunes.

iPad mini Wi-Fi, Mac OS X (10.6.8)

1. Do you have the latest version of iTunes on your computer

2. Try different USB port on your computer

Reboot your iPad by holding the home and sleep buttons until the logo appears. Then try connecting it again.
