The iPad has the lightning connector, so that uses the lightning to SD card reader and the lightning to USB camera connector, but the page that you posted from still applies.
If you copy the photos onto an SD card yourself, as opposed to using it with a camera, then for the photos to be recognised by the iPad you will need to create a DCIM directory off the root of the card, with the photos underneath it, and the photo filenames need to be exactly 8 characters long (no spaces) plus the file extension i.e. in a similar format as if a camera had created/written them

Ipad would be small enough to travel in backbag. And i have camera and gopro. So i need to get pictures and videos to the usb sticks. Sorry, i have bad english skill, hopefully you can understand what i mean.

You can only used them to copy photos and videos from an SD card or your camera to the iPad's Photos app, they can't be used to copy them off the iPad to a USB stick or anything else.
To copy them off the iPad you will need to connect the iPad to a computer
