Try the troubleshooting suggestions in http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1559 and if that does not help, a user has found that it helps to:

Go to Settings and turn Airplane Mode and Do Not Disturb ON

Power down and wait 5-10 minutes

Power up

Go to Settings and turn Airplane Mode and Do Not Disturb OFF

If that does not help, backup your content and go to Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings and then restore from the backup.

If that still does not help, take it to an Apple store genius bar for testing by the technicians.

Just logging in to say "Me, too." I have the iPad 2, and starting last week, wifi became spotty, but would repair itself when I reset it. Now it's grayed out (or is it GREYed?) and won't give me the option to turn on. I tried all the fixes in this thread, no luck.

I'll take it to the Genius Bar this weekend to see if they have a fix - otherwise I'll wait till the next software upgrade and hope that helps.

Ashpie, in Portugal we, consumers, have a 2-year warranty for all eletronic devices. Here, if you buy a phone on comunnications service provider, instead of buying it on an apple store, we have to ask the vendor to repair the broken equipment. This is not what is stated by law, but Apple refuses to handle iGadgets not bought from the itunes store. I could go to Spain, for example, to an apple store, and get my phone switched immediately. However, my international warranty expired yesterday. I have yet one year and a half left on my portuguese warranty, guaranteed by law, and Vodafone refuses to repair, switch, or refund the equipment ( as it is stated on apple's portuguese warranty) because the equipment has minor scratches on the alluminium, stating that the equipment is malfunctioning due to this cosmetic failures. My phone never even took any kind of crash. But knowing all of this, I will make a formal complaint, and normally this issues are always solved.

I just don't get, if this is a hardware issue, why did Wifi work for about 12 hours after I updated to iOS7, and then failed again?

I have past like 1 hour with the Apple Tech on the phone, once he said ist a Software problem and after his superior say its a Hardware problem, but i dont care what its the cause, what i care its my phone not working properly.

And how strange it is that everybodie have the same problem but nobody at Apple know anything about that!

They said i should pay for the extra warranty! I have already paid my phone! At this price it suppose to last the 3 year with my contract! Its not a cheap phone bought in the internet its an iPhone!

They had a bad batch in their factory and now we have to pay for their error!? They charge me 200$ for the repair!

I WILL NEVER PAY FOR THIS !! And i encourage you to do the same!

I will go to my apple store and try to get a free repair, its the minimum they can do!

Hi, I'm also portuguese (speaking english so everybody can understand). I had the same problem and they changed my Iphone 4S for a NEW one and didnt charge nothing because its on the 2 year warranty. BUT after 24 hours of having a brand new Iphone 4S the wifi greyed out AGAIN, in a NEW iphone. So the problem its not hardware, its impossible to be or they are giving/we're paying for broken phones...had two iphones and they had the same problem, the second one being brand new with less than 24 hours use. SOMEBODY FIX THIS instead of making iphones colourfull.

I'd like to ask everyone here that has this problem if you use Bluetooth? If yes and you have the problem what BT device are you hooking it up to? We have about 100 iPhones in our organisation and ONE iPhone have this problem. We sent it in and got a new one on the warranty. One week later the same user with the new iPhone comes back and says its the same problem.

She has a BT speaker att home that she connects to every day, and as far as I know she is the only one that does this manoveur.

So please share if you use BT devices AND have this problem (over and over)...

Have never used BT. This started after iOS 7. Worked perfect when I upgraded but when I got to a friends home it stopped autoconnecting, after a day I couldn't connect, a few hours later I couldn't list any wifi, and a day later it was greyed out.

Not I'm back to Can not connect.

Have an old 4 16Gb that got thesame problem from 6.1.3 that i'm gonna try this on.
