    How is your 4S wifi doing now after repairs.


    I just gave mine for repairs today after trying all the stuff like reset, restore, heating, cooling etc. Pathetic


    They are charging me IRs.1050 inclusive of part, service & taxes.

    Aren't there any lawyers reading this? Sounds like a good case for a class action.  The same thing happened to my wife's phone. Then I started reading these sorsts of posts, and it is absolutely clear that this should be a recall.  The amount of aggravation that this causes to a huge number of people is really unacceptable.  So when it comes to aclass action lawsuit, at some point Apple will have to pay for cellular data costs that paople incurred becouse they lost WIFI connectivity.  I can just see the lawyers having a field day with this.


    Sad thing is that I have been an Apple fan since about 1990.  If anyone read the Steve Jobs book like I did, must know that he is turning in his grave.  Whe he said that his dream is to build a great company, he certainly did not mean this.

    A quarter of a million people have this problem.



    I personally have given up on hair drying and then putting in freezer, it works for a few days then goes back to null.



    I am really saddened  Apple knows about this and acts completely callously, claiming warranty issues.



    I have been given 6 new iPhone 4s while under warranty, and 0 new phones now that I'm out of warranty.



    I am in Brooklyn, I am not a robot, its really a first world problem, but is so f-ing annoying.



    Verizon, btw, gladly charges me extra as I rack up over data charges.



    And Verizon says the same thing, out of warranty, can't help.

    The number of views does not correspond to the number of people having the issue, or even the number of individuals that have viewed this thread.  Each time any page in this thread is viewed, it increases the view count.

    And there are only 411 replies, and each reply is not from a unique individual.

    Also, not every person that's posted in this thread has stated they have this problem.


    Your conclusion is based on your faulty interpretation of the available data.


    You state that you had your device replaced six times while under warranty.  Did you extend your warranty, at any time, during the first year?

    Best advice is to get a two-year coverage for your iPhone, and then replace your device at a free or discount price when you're eligibile for such from your wireless carrier.

    Ugh, pedant much? Your "interpretation of the data" is just as faulty as CABKNYs. It's pretty apparent that this thread doesn't represent EVERYONE who has this problem with their phone, so s/he just might be right; you have no idea.


    I love how Apple lets posts like the above stand, but deletes others that "aren't related" to the thread. You can be condescending all you want, but how dare you question the authority of the mighty Apple???


    My phone's wifi is still not working on my carrier's network. Interestingly enough it worked when I was out of state, on a different network. However, I was also in the desert, so maybe it just heated up enough to effect a temporary repair? Now that I'm back home, nope, no wifi, and the carrier and Apple both shrug and say it's not their fault.


    My wifi broke when my carrier did a "push" update - and I mean, it literally greyed out as I watched when the tech remotely connected to the phone. The carrier claimed it wasn't their fault, but wow, that seems VERY coincidental to me. Sounds like it's more than just a hardware fault.


    iPhones are basically junk so I'm not surprised the user above had to replace hers/his 6 times. This is my first one and I will never, ever get another one. Expecting every consumer to buy an extended warranty to compensate for a bad product is ludicrous.

    Interesting twist on my end.


    I got fed up and switched to a new carrier. Of course the old carrier won't unlock my phone, BUT now that it is no longer connected to their network, the Wifi works now.


    Maybe it's actually the carriers themselves causing the issue. I'm completely certain that was the case with my phone. (I still think iPhones are junk though. I can't believe how much people will pay for them.)

    I discovered that when I deactivate cellular data and 3G in Settings and cellular, I don't have the wifi problem anymore. It's as if this way it generates less heat and the wifi chip or ios 7 can handle it this way.

    I had this problem after upgrading the iOS on my 4S that I had for just a little over a year and was still under contract. I went to the Apple store and they told me that the wifi band was broken around the phone and they tried to pressure me to buy a new phone.


    So I tried what the Internet said to do. I used a hair dryer but I couldn't get the phone hot enough. So on a hot day, I left my phone on the dashboard of my car.


    And lo and behold. I got my wifi back. It's been back on for weeks but I'm afraid of upgrading the iOS for the same thing to happen.


    Apple is fully aware of this defect but they don't care.

    I had the same problem and fixed as follows:


    1- Close all applications.

    2- Restart Iphone

    3-Turn Cellular Data Off

    4- Reset Network settings

    5- Restart Iphone
