iPad 3 stuck in apple logo during start-up. Tried hard restart, did not work . Still stuck.

iPad stuck in apple logo during start-up. Tried hard restart did not work. Plugged into computer iTunes. Apple logo still on, computer not recognzing iPad.

What should I do next?

iPad (3rd gen) Wi-Fi + Cellular (VZ), iOS 6.1.2

1. Turn off iPad. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, slide to turn off.


2. Connect USB cable to computer


3. Press and hold the Home button down and connect the docking end of cable to iPad


4. Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect To iTune" screen


5. Release the Home button


6. Open iTune (make sure you have the newest version of iTune)


7. You should see "iTunes has detected an iPad in recovery mode"


8. Use iTune to restore iPad



Note: You need to be patient and repeat the above many times to recover your iPad

Hi,

A reset is done by holding the power off button and the home button simultaneously, keep holding them in and you will usually see the power off slide appear and disappear, although some don't see it at all, wait until you see the Apple logo appear before releasing the buttons. Your iPad should then start up on its own although it may take up to a full minute for this to occur.

Let us know how you get on iPad stuck on Apple screen logo.
