Can anyone help me? My Son did a factory reste on his older Ipod Touch 1st or 2nd edition. Now the App Store is missing, how can we get it back?

Try Settings > General > Reset > Reset Home Screen Layout to get it back.
Ralph this did not work. I have read that all the original apps can not be deleted? My son wants to download games to his ipod. We need the app store back to do this. Please Help 😕

What iOS is on the iPod? you need at least iOS 2 to get the App store and use apps. If yo do not have at iOS 2 then you have a 1G. Those can go as high as 3.1.3 that you get htere:

How can I tell if it's a 1st gen or 2nd gen? Hwn my son did the reset on it, it had the app store on there but now it's gone? I've read that they original apps can't be deleted?
You may want to check the serial number on back of the ipod and search it on google. If there was app store before the reset was done, then u may have to update to the latest vesrion avialbale for ur ipod
The serial number for ipod tocuh 2nd gen is : A1288
And for 3rd gen is : A1318

I have checkd for any restrictions and to see what IOS it has there are no buttons to see this info? This is fustrating. It's an older Ipod given to my 9yr old son to play his games he has on my iphone so he doesn't have to be on my phone all the time. I really don't want to pay $200 for a new one since he so young. I just wish I could get the app store back😕
go to settings < genearal < software update and check if there is any new upadate
serial number is worn off.
Sanmannyer. he says he has an old 1G or 2G iPod the Settings>General>Software update is only available for a 3G and later and if it has iOS 5 or later.
Yeah we tried that but the software update button is missing also.
