I have a question to Apple.

Why the Mac OS X does not support OpenCL for intel GPUs?

You propose OpenCL for high performance computing.

The Intel have begun to provide OpenCL-compatible gpu from ivy bridge.

Especially, the haswell is even redesigned for GPGPU computing, including OpenCL 1.2.

It is however, the Mac OS X 10.8 on MacBook Air (Haswell) still does not support OpenCL for Intel-GPU.

Why the Mac OS X still does not support OpenCL for Intel-GPUs?

When can we access Intel-GPU via OpenCL on Mac OS X?

I have the same proplem, only CPU that clGetDevices returns.

mba 2013 13' , CPU: i7.

I found a official document for OpenCL in OSX 10.9:

OpenCL in OSX 10.6~10.8 does not work on Intel HD 4000/5000. Now 10.9 comes with OpenCL 1.2, and it works on Intel HD 4000/5000, so upgrade to Mavericks fix everything.

Hope Mavericks will work well.

I just can't wait to test OpenCL on Intel HD Graphics 5000.

Yep -- Anyone who owns a Mac that has HD 4000 or 5000 needs to run Mavericks now.

It fixes some laggy GPU issues; some, but not all.

If you have the 4000, you can only 'polish a turd' so much.

The 5000 is supposedly better in terms of performance, but the 5200 blows both of them away.
