Why don't my animated GIFs work now?

No, iPhone do not support animated gif.

I have sent animated gifs on my phone. What I did was copy the gif from a website and then pasted it into a text. The animated gif worked just fine an dthe recipient could see the gif move and so could I. Try sending one and you will see

Yep just sent one. After it was copied into the text window it didn't move but then once it was sent I could look at the sent message which contained text and the animated gif and the gif was definately moving

Yep I went to a webpage in safari on the phone, copied a animated gif by holding finger on it until "copy"came up tapped on copy hten went to text, typed message, pasted animated gif and it did what I said on ip5

One question, works on SMS or iMessage or both?

Only tried it with imessage not MMS. Funny if you then go to the sent message and try and save the gif to the camera roll it saves but then if you view the gif in the roll it doesn't move

I found that if I copy an animated gif to the camera roll and view the gif from the roll it doesn't move but when I send the gif from the roll the recipient gets the gif in an imessage it does move. I cannot explain why that is the case but I tried it form my ip5 to my wife's ip4 and it works like I said. For some reason in the camera roll the gifs don't move but after they are sent it seem to sort itself out. TRy it and see

Did you ever find a solution to this problem? I have exactly the same issue. Hated having to scroll through all my pictures trying to find a specific gif so I created an Album in my iPhoto and synced it to my iphone. Now Gifs don't work. Lame!

There's one thing I'm going to try but haven't had the chance... I'm going to share my album to my devices via photo stream instead of syncing it to see if that solves the issue. If not, I'm just going to give in and create a separate album in the device itself.

Gifs work via both, iMessage and MMS. And yes, they don't work when you view via your album. Except on your computer if you use the "preview" (space bar) instead of actually opening the gif.

i cant...i try to save but on my photolibrary i dont move and i have tried ur way that u just copy n paste but still nothing the pic still not moving btw i using iphone 4s..is my phone is not supported for GIF
