I opened Filezilla and it asked me to update, so I did. I got to open the app in my dock and it just hops in the dock once and does nothing. Simply no reaction at all. I don't understand it. I am running 10.8.4. I did just recently upgrade my hard drive, I don't know if that has anything to do with it. Someone please help!!!

Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, reboot when it completes.
(Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive.)
If not...
Open Console in Applications>Utilities & see if there are any clues or repeating messages when this happens.

This is one of the lines in console when I ran it.

Okay, so I redownloaded Filezilla again but I used a different program to unzip the file and when it was done unzipping I opened Filezilla and it worked! Why would it not work with the Unarchiver?
Good work, haven't seen that yet, no idea why the Unarchiver quarantined it & no user content???

OK, I was thinking about booting back into 10.8.4 to test when I get time... let's see, what exact version of Filezilla, & Unarchiver was it?
OK, 10.8.4, FZ v. 3.7.0.1, Unarchiver v. 2.7.1, no problem.
So, I'm assumng a bad Download, or corrupt something or other!???
I've had the same problem. Haven't got it fixed yet.
I had the same problems. I tried some different releases but all seemed to be corrupt. Also used Unarchiver.
After using different application to extract bz2 file it unpacked good this time!
