Q: Email text is not showing up in iCloud mail.

The first line of it can be seen in the "preview", or it can be viewed when "Reply" is chosen, but not in the actual reading pane.

Any idea what's up?

I am having the same problem. Any help would be appreciated as it is really annoying.

On a side not the emails that don't show the text on iCloud do show on my iPhone and mac mail apps.

I also have this problem. Opened a ticket at Apple Support and called them. They told me to restart the computer or look in the display settings... real experts...

Exploring the behaviour further on my own I noticed that all mails which aren't displayed were written on Outlook. Could you check this in your cases? (via x-mailer header or just asking ;-) )

I just sent an email from my work account (Outlook) and was able to see the email body text fine in iCloud.com mail.

I also did that afterwards. But from my office Outlook 2010 I also wasn't able to generate a mail which isn't displayed. Even tried it with several attachments (all non-displaying mails have 3-5 images attached).

Now I forwarded a non-displaying mail to my GMX webmail account. It showed everything. Then forwarded it to my office. Outlook showed everything. Then forwarded it back to icloud - display is empty again. There must be something in it - bad html or something like that. The text itself is in the page source, but not displayed.

But... there's a comment around the whole message!

    <!--[if !mso]><div class="WordSection1">

    <p><span style="font-size:11.0pt;font-family:&quot;Calibri&quot;,&quot;sans-serif&quot;; color:#1F497D"> </span></p>

    <p><span style="font-size:11.0pt;font-family:&quot;Calibri&quot;,&quot;sans-serif&quot;; color:#1F497D"> </span></p>

    ...

And... Thunderbird users seem to have the same issue. But the ticket there says Thunderbird is behaving correctly when not displaying comments.

    https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=707108

They don't want to fix it. This made my day: "Adding non-standard behavior in a Mozilla product to fix a Microsoft bug really rubs me raw."

    Same Problem.

Interestingly - some emails only do not show when using Chrome to access icloud. (outlook created?)

The same email using internet explorer works...

    Similar experience?

    Haven't tried it in IE.

I've tried it - and had the same problem - in Safari, Chrome, and Firefox.

Does anybody know which version of IE is theoretically able to run icloud.com? Have tried IE9 and IE10 in every combination of "browser mode" and "document mode". Often there's only a black empty page, once I saw the grey icloud background. Nothing else...

On Windows XP, I've got the same issue with :

    • Firefox 17.0.6,
    • Chome Version 27.0.1453.116 m,
    • Safari 5.1.7 (7534.57.2).

But it works fine with :

    • Internet Explorer 8.0.7601.17514

This is bogus beyond belief. I've sent multiple messages to Apple to no avail.  What gives?  I can't access email from work other than thru iCloud. Is anyone listening???
